On The Right Track
What is it about trains? Even the train tracks make us think romantic thoughts of adventure and travel to some mysterious place. This impromptu session was shot at sunset where some tracks crossed an old country road. We never saw the train, but it's presence was still felt. The beautiful field was close by and irresistible.

Loves comes again
These two sweethearts are very dear to me. I was blessed to be able to photograph their special day. It was beautiful and they were tooo cute! The word smitten comes to mind. hee hee Just look at their smiles! I could have spent another hour just photographing the flower girls! They looked like angels. Enjoy a few from their gallery.
Little M and family
I loved him with the blue. Here's a favorite. What an intense gaze.
Safe in Mommy's and Daddy's arms. Sweet dreams baby.
Oh how I love sweet little baby feet! So tiny!
"Doesn't my Mommy have the most beautiful eyes!"
He was sleeping so sound, but I think the light from the window was too bright. awww
And again, those gorgeous eyes! Wow. He was perfect throughout the whole photo session!

Sweet baby girls
I just love photographing little ones! Since 93% of communication isn't even verbal, they can say soooo much even before they can get out their first words. It's amazing to watch their eyes and faces as they "talk" to us. What's really fun for me is the challenge of capturing as many of those messages as possible in one photo session. Scarlet had a lot to say in our short amount of time together. Here are just a few from her photo session where we ended up with a LOT of great shots!

Camo and the Colors
This one reminds me of when I was serving in the AFRES. My BDUs are too tight right now, but I plan to fit back into them soon. I loved the color and patriotism in the photo, and the fact that it's one of the few with all female soldiers. I hope Tisha and everyone in my old flight are doing well. God bless you and keep you, and everyone still serving our country.
Gingerbread gives back
This gingerbread house won a ribbon at the state fair. It was dusty and not worth eating when I brought it home. So, after looking at it a few weeks one year, I sat it out in the garden thinking birds might like it. I was quite surprised to see it "moving" one day. A closer look and I was shocked to see a large group of honey bees had taken it over. They were inside and outside everywhere. I wonder what a pot of honey from their hive would have tasted like. Ginger-honey? Well, I let them have it for several days until the rain got it. When I planned to give a gift to nature after the holidays, it just never occurred to me it would be a gift to the bees!

winter
This photo taken in Toronto makes me think about my life. So many possible directions, my brain gets overloaded with choices. Like these train tracks, I don't know where any of those choices could end up taking me. Some will surely go to places I wouldn't want to be, but some...some must go to places where dreams could come true. If I make the right decision, it would be the ride of my life and the destination would be incredible. Who do I take on this journey? My husband, my children, my friends and loved ones. What do I pack? My experience, my enthusiasm, my imagination, and my courage. It won't be easy making the choice on which train to take, but that's where God comes in.
What will I do when I get there? Look for the next train station, of course. That's me. Are you ready?

Family ties
I've been photographing several brother and sister sessions lately. I would guess they, like most siblings, they have secrets, dirt and bonds that run deep from experiencing their growing years together. These sessions can be so fun! I can get a sense for their relationship, knowing how my brother and I probably acted like mortal enemies at times, but now we love to look back and remember all the great stories of our childhood. It has bonded us and been a blessing. Here are a few of my favorite recent shots. Can't you just hear the stories in these portraits? I do a lot of sessions with younger kids, but this is different, and such fun. I have to admit to laughing in the last session until...well, let's say I had to go.
